All too often Kim got lost in his own thoughts. Since his own thoughts were almost always of music, he found himself lost in the random soundtrack of his own life at times. Headphones in as he walked downtown it started with just a nod of his head and graduated to the tapping of his hands on his jeans to the beat of the music. A short time later and the rest of his body followed suit and he was half-dancing, half-walking along the street.
If he had been aware of it Kim would have been mortified. In his everyday life he did his best to not draw attention to himself. If he could be invisible, that would be awesome. Unfortunately that wasn't the sort of thing he was capable of.
He didn't even notice what was going on until he was rounding a corner on the street and almost ran into someone also turning the corner. Kim quickly skipped and spun out of the way to avoid the collision, feeling his stomach sink when he realized what he was doing.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry," he said, pulling off his headphones and holding out a hand to steady the person he had almost run into. "I- I'm so sorry, I, uh, I wasn't looking where I was going."
[Be the person he almost bumped into or just witness him dance-walking down the street.]

"I like looking at art and tattoo parlors are great places to find it."

All art was like that, you had the mass produced stuff that was strictly for the consumers and then you had the high art. Both had their place and he didn't see any reason to knock one or the other.

He could still hear the incessant giggles of the bikini girls and wondered how many of them, ten or fifteen years down the line, would regret the ink he'd given them in their attempts to seduce him by flashing body parts at him. He was pretty sure at least half of them would.

Every type of art had it's cliche works and he was pretty sure those had to be at least a few of the ones for tattoos. Never mind that he couldn't fit the bicep ones with his current work.

"What are some of your favorites that you've done? Uh, besides that one."

"Came in with his girlfriend and was giving her all this shit about her whimpering over the star she was getting on her bicep. Then he sits down and not five minutes in to his forearm job and he had to tap out because of the pain. It was a brilliant moment."

That was not good at all, considering it was a pretty prominent place to have something, not to mention you'd constantly have people asking you about why it wasn't finished.

I have no idea what the guy ended up doing with a partial on his arm, but I know the girl ditched him not long after that. Smart girl," Adrian smiled. "It's not the first time, either. Sometimes the ones you think will fold don't and the strongest crumple."

Date: 2014-09-21 10:44 pm (UTC)Having to have his tattoos touched up every once in a while he knew how badly it could hurt. Although honestly he had gotten used to it after a while so while it hurt he just sort of... didn't think about it.
"The back of my arms always hurt way worse than the front."

That's why I usually tell people to stay away from the pain zones when they're looking to get their firsts. Some listen, some don't. The ones that don't usually end up regretting it."

"I kind of had to talk the guy into doing it. The fact that I was sober helped, I think."

Date: 2014-09-23 03:00 pm (UTC)"That's a pretty big commitment straight out of the box," Adrian agreed, then smiled at the comment about being sober. "I have a policy at the shop. There's a special drunk disclaimer with an added video element. If you won't sign it, and film a little video stating your full intent on whatever you're wanting to ink on your body while hammered, my needle stays off your skin. Got burned once by that one and never again."

Date: 2014-09-26 01:27 am (UTC)"I made sure that I wanted the same design for three years before I got it," Kim said. As rash as the choice sounded, it really wasn't. Of course, he would have done just about anything to keep his siren powers locked down, a tattoo and a spell was a pretty simple choice.
"And yeah, I've seen people with drunken tattoo choices and it's just sad. Even drunk people should have better taste."
